Innishfael Dragon is 100% again and taking a few months off. We will be sending him to be finished in the bridle sometime this winter and then have lots of plans for our 2010 show season!
August 2009
Innishfael Dragon is currently on the injured list. He damaged his rear leg and while he is sound on the leg, we are resting him for probably the rest of the 2009 show season. Dragon is simply too precious to us to push just for points. However, we are very proud to announce that this month, the Pinto Horse Association of America has awarded Innishfael Dragon TWO Register of Merit Awards - one for Open Halter and one for Overo Color.

Minnesota Pinto Spring Fling - here is the link to the Youtube video taken of Dragon in his classes!

Due to schedule and transport issues, we did not show Innishfael Dragon and Innishfael Maximus in halter this weekend. Instead we opted to have Dragon show under saddle in Junior Horse Western Pleasure and Ideal Pinto Western. Dragon injured both hind legs with several surface cuts during the Saturday evening haul and although he was sound, it was not pretty. We took him into the ring for experience and did not expect anything but for him to get used to riding classes.
Here are two shots of the warm-up ring just prior to his classes. There must have been upwards of 25 horses in the warm-up and Dragon made me proud, taking it all in stride.

In the junior horse class, Dragon was placed FIRST under four of the six judges, and second from the other two! In Ideal Pinto Western, he showed against seasoned western pleasure horses and was used by three judges with an astounding first, third and sixth places. We are thrilled with his performance and placings and wanted to share some photos with you.
