Spring is officially here - our first foal of the year is on the ground and another one is due soon. Our breeding season also started early, as the mares all decided this lovely warm spring and hardly any winter weather made them all frisky. Mechall MS was more than happy to oblige and so far we have two mares in foal to him. One of the mares has had difficulty in maintaining a pregnancy, so we are cautiously hopeful.
Our first foal to arrive is Innishfael Talia (BP Tali Tigar x MS Melodical Blus) and she is a lovely black bay with no white. Okay, she has about three white hairs on her forehead, but when you have a farm that has mostly pinto and sabino stock, she seems to have no white! A true rarity here. Please check the foals page to see Talia.
Our first horse show is also under our belt as of this weekend. Innishfael Dragon has been in training at Clearwater Equestrian Center this winter and is really coming along. I showed him myself in three classes, and they were not small classes either! We managed to place in one class despite my miscue where Dragon blew a lead. I did catch it right away and was really very happy to hear that we were on the Judge's card. Every time we go out into the ring, we improve as a team, so this is very exciting.
Dragon also showed with Corey James of CEC in the open classes and he placed both times shown. I have more info on the Show Results Page and of course I have photos on the Show Page.
Good things are happening this year, I hope they are also going well for our clients and our friends.
